TORONTO PUBLIC LIBRARY
Presented by Amena R. Children’s Program Librarian
Tuesdays, October 3 and Dec. 5 @ 4:00 p.m.
Join us at Drop in for a visit from the Toronto Public Library Children’s Librarian.  Enjoy a 20 minute circle time with songs, finger rhymes and stories.  There will be information about library services, and a librarian to answer any questions you might have.  There will also be library registration on site.  If you are interested in getting a Toronto Public Library Card, please bring address ID with you.

 MAKING YOUR OWN BABY FOOD

“ASK THE NURSE” WITH TORONTO PUBLIC HEALTH

A Toronto Public Health Nurse  will be available during Drop In to answer questions about your child’s health, nutrition and development.

LIVE-IN CAREGIVER INFORMATION
Presented by Bernice Small from Working Women Community Centre
Fridays, Oct. 6 and Nov. 10 @ 10:00 a.m.
Come and discuss your specific needs and concerns, meet women from your community to share
experiences and create relationships of support, obtain immigration guidance and know your rights and obligations while working as a live-in caregiver in Canada.

We will talk about teething, proper brushing and flossing, cavities, prevention, etc.  We will also share our Toronto Public Health resources (free dental care for children and low cost clinics in Toronto) and dental/oral health info and resources.

FROM LANGUAGE TO LITERACY
Presented by Dave Page, Early Literacy Specialist for Ontario Early Years Programs.
Friday, Nov. 17 @ 10:00 a.m.
In this fun and interactive workshop, Dave will engage us in a discussion on child language development.  We will discuss how rhymes, songs, and stories promote language skills and look at some beautiful, top quality books for young children.

Come and browse our selection located in the Toy Library. Take clothes that you need for your child. You may also donate clothes for children ages newborn to size 5 that are clean and in good repair and are no longer needed.

CHILDCARE REGISTRY
Babysitters, caregivers, and parents seeking childcare have listed their names in our directory. To view the binder, please ask at reception during office hours. CECC cannot assume responsibility for screening names in the registry.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES
Rent a room for your child’s party! We have toys galore!
Cost: $75.00 CECC members, $100.00 non-members
Available: Saturdays, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

RESOURCE LIBRARY
Located in the Toy Library, our Resource Library consists of books and videos providing information about child care, stress management, childbirth, child development, and behaviour management. Books and resources may be borrowed through our Toy Library program. Please feel free to browse when the Library is open.

RECEIPTS
CECC issues charitable tax receipts for all donations over $10.00.  However, when enrolling for programs such as children’s programs, after-school program, March break camp and summer day camp, please retain the fee receipt that is issued upon registration and payment.  CECC does not issue separate receipts for income tax purposes for registration fees.

CECC’s  ANNUAL HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL
Friday, October 27 @ 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Join us for our Annual Halloween Carnival!   This year featuring a special guest entertainer! Also enjoy some fun arts and crafts activities, face painting, refreshments and leave with a fun loot bag! Come dressed up in your favorite costume!
Only $10.00 per child for all activities, entertainment and refreshments! Suitable for children 12 months+.
All proceeds benefit CECC’s Family Resource Centre.
